The 16-foot residential unit is sized for driveways and tighter sites. It fits one bedroom of furniture or the contents of a small move. The 20-foot commercial container holds about 1,360 cubic feet, fits a one-car garage of contents, and works for jobsites, retail inventory, and bigger moves. Pick the size based on what you store, not what you can park.

How many pallets or how much furniture fits inside each container size?

Accepted Answer

A 20-foot container holds about 10 standard pallets or the furniture from a two-bedroom home. A 40-foot container holds about 20 pallets or a four-bedroom home worth of contents. The 16-foot residential unit holds roughly 8 pallets or one bedroom of furniture. Stack tall, leave aisle space, and do not block the doors.

We deliver across the Hudson Valley in 24 to 72 hours when units are in stock. Same-day delivery is sometimes possible if you call before 10 a.m. on a weekday. Construction jobs and last-minute moves should book at least two business days ahead during peak season from April through October.

Our tilt-bed truck needs a straight, flat path to your drop site. Plan for 65 feet of straight clearance for a 20-foot container and 125 feet for a 40-foot container. We also need 12 feet of width and 16 feet of overhead clearance. Trim back tree limbs and watch for power lines, gates, and low overhangs.

Asphalt, concrete, and packed gravel work best. Grass and dirt work too if the ground is firm and level. Soft, muddy, or sloped ground can settle under the weight and cause door alignment issues. We bring leveling blocks to even out small grade differences.

Our drivers know how to protect residential driveways. We use plywood mats under the container feet to spread the load. A loaded 20-foot container can weigh up to 6,000 pounds, so we ask you to flag any cracks, drains, or septic covers before we arrive. We have not damaged a driveway in years, and we carry insurance if anything ever goes wrong.

Yes. Just call us 48 hours before your end date. We will roll your rental forward another month. When you are ready for pickup, give us 48 hours notice and clear the path the same way as delivery. We do not pro-rate partial months unless agreed in your quote.

You do not have to be there, but someone should mark the drop spot if the location is not obvious. We will need clear access and a way to confirm placement. For pickup, just leave the container locked and ready. Our driver will text you a photo when the job is done.
